New album out “My Misfit Ways”
•janvier 27, 2009 • 1 Comment“One year after his first album “Next to the sea”, with the precious help of his drum player, Greg Pleiber-Lemoigne, Christophe Marc offers us “My Misfit Ways”.
After having experienced the adventure with different bands such as “Felix Culpa”, “Les 50 Otages”, “Cody”, “Mancub” and his current work under the name of “Galago”, he decides to go solo, author, composer, interpretor, multi-instrumentalist.
The ambiance of the album remains rather close to the first one’s, but the work on the sounds and the voices marks a change.
From the take-off on, the first track “Beautiful Days” sets the tone for the rest of the album: strange, intense, inspired, rather dark but not sad, introspective, mesmerizing and hypnotic, with this amazing final that takes you by surprise… A perpetual mise-en-abyme immerses the listeners in a sort of ethereal universe, as it was already the case in his first solo album with songs such as “So Nasty, So Cruel”, or “You Swine!” as well as the wonderful “Better This Way”.
Here again, the numerous influences are subtly blended, and if he still loves bands from the 80’s, this very personal “My Misfit Ways” shows new horizons.
Christophe Marc has fully created a sound universe of his own…”
